has been an adjunct instructor at Oglethorpe University and a guest lecturer at
Emory University and Georgia State. She has also spoken for the Atlanta Press
Club, the Atlanta Legal Aid Society, Women in Financial Services, the Financial
Planning Association, The Society of Human Resource Managers, Vistage
International and the Freelance Forum.

holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Georgia
and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Emory

Dr. Ranew led a discussion of sex differences in leadership
styles. Discussion will center on research defining leadership around
traditionally masculine dimensions and the broader dimensions that women’s
leadership styles are now bringing to the body of knowledge. Myths, prejudices
and affirmations around female leadership will be explored. A social workers
unique training will be presented as an overlay for a transformational
leadership style.
